On Monday the 6th June, Becky, Georgia, Zoe and I went to Thurgoona Public School to meet with Mr Dunlop, Adrian Wells, Stacee Staunton, Sue Rose and the other schools involved in the Creative Kids program. When we arrived at Thurgoona our school and everyone else sat down in one of the class rooms to listen to the other projects.
After that we listened to Adrian and watched a slideshow. The slideshow was about the environment and had some quizzes and questions too. When we finished the slide show we were treated with some yummy varieties of food from the canteen. When we had eaten and gone to the toilet, everyone sat back down in the classroom. As the group settled back down, Adrian asked us some more questions but we also had another person visit from the CMA (Catchment Management Authority). Judy was, I guess you could say a bug scientist who works with the CMA. We learnt from Judy about all types of bugs and about their features. We also learnt how to pin down the bugs for show. Mr Dunlop split us into 2 groups. One group would play a game that Stacee made up for 15 minutes and the other got a closer look at the insects and vice-versa. When that session was done, Zoe and I took pictures of Thurgoona's project. When we had finished, Tanya (Georgia's mum) came and picked us up. Thank you to Tanya for driving us, everyone I've mentioned for the education and a good time and the canteen at Thurgoona.
